Up2Date: application to fight the spread of fake news
CHALLENGE
During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in America, fake news spread rapidly; motivating incorrect behavior and spreading false information. There arose a need to distinguish the fake from the real, fact-checked news.
SOLUTION
To combat the spread of fake news, my team and I developed a prototype for an app and an extension that would fact-check information as users scroll through their feeds/browse the internet.
How I helped

Conducted research by interviewing interest groups, analyzing existing data, and making surveys.

Iterated on designs, and created multiple wireframes.

User tested the prototype drafts before finalizing the design.

Collaborated with my team, ensured that everyone felt heard, and had a role to play.

Utilized Figma to develop designs, prototype them and present them.
OUTCOME
Received an A+ for our designs once we presented them to our Professor and our class.
